Hello and welcome to my Apprenticeship blog! I have created this blog as part of my Creative Media course in Digital Media.
My name is Adam Cooper. I'm a 17 year old student who has undergone an apprenticeship with Tees Valley Music Service (TVMS). I started the course in November 2014 with 3 other apprentices who I have worked with on many occasions throughout the course, helping me to create many aspects of this blog (videos, audio files). By the end of this course I hope to achieve a qualification and the experience and I am grateful for the opportunity that TVMS has given me. But first let's talk a little about me.
This is me:
I'm a happy, conscientious, hard-working individual who loves to learn new skills. After I finished school I applied for multiple apprenticeships, all focusing on Digital Media. I knew I wanted my dream career to be in digital media but the exact job role was not decided and still to this day I do not know what I want to do 5 years down the line. Personally, I believe it is important to keep your options open when you are young because you could spend 5 years following a job you really want but not get it because there are no employers hiring round your area. Alternatively, you may get the job of your dreams but find out that it's not at all what you expected; so I believe keeping your options open is a smart decision.
But enough of my job aspirations, let's talk about my personal interests and things I want to achieve in my social life. I enjoy swimming, running (I attend a weekly running club), reading and writing, computer games amongst a host of other activities. It has always been a dream of mine to write a piece of literature, whether that be a novel or a poem, and have it published professionally. I have always had an interest for storytelling and love coming up with creative ideas which is partly why I wanted a job within the creative media sector. One of the main reason I took this course was because the job description said I would be working with cameras and editing software which I have always enjoyed, even from a young age.
You may see as you read on that I love making short films
and video content in general on this blog and using the skills and knowledge I
have obtained during this course my work should no doubt get bigger and better
to the point where you can actually see my improvement through the quality of
the videos I am making. The same can be said for Unit 1 to Unit 10. Because I completed these units in order, you can see significant improvements as I start to gain more confidence and learn new skills for answering the sub elements.
Finally, to conclude and to reiterate what I just said at the beginning, I am grateful for this opportunity to work with Tees Valley Music Service and the talented people who work for them. Hopefully I will gain a qualification as well as the invaluable experience. So, I think I've said all I wanted to say on this "About Me" page so I hope you enjoy my actual coursework content that can be viewed just by clicking any of the tabs above.
Thanks for reading!
